The College of Medical Sciences (COMS) is the first pioneer medical college to get letter of Intent in the year 1993 and enrolled the 1st batch of MBBS students admissions in the year 1996 and is the centre of excellence for providing advanced yet affordable and quality medical education. It is affiliated to the Kathmandu University and is recognized by the Nepal Medical Council, National Medical Council of India, Sri Lanka Medical Council, and the General Medical Council of Great Britain (UK). It is also enlisted in the WHO’s World Directory of Medical Schools and FAIMER, USA.



Dhaka National Medical College is a private medical college in Dhaka, Bangladesh, which imparts MBBS education to local as well as medical students from abroad. It was founded in 1925 as the Dhaka National Medical Institute which was then situated near Bahadur Shah Park. Dhaka National Medical College was inaugurated in 1994 at the premises of Dhaka National Medical Institute Hospital located in old Dhaka. It has a glorious past. Since its inception, the college has an excellent and congenial academic environment . Presently 25th batches of students are going to be admitted in this college. Foreign students of different countries of the world have been pursing higher studies here.

Dhaka National Medical College has a 850-bed multidisciplinary hospital complex adjacent to the academic building. The college offers a 5-year course in both MBBS and BDS approved by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) from Dhaka University. After passing the final professional examination, there is a compulsory one-year internship. Dhaka national medical college offers MBBS course to students from India as well.

The College offers an MBBS degree to foreign (Indians as well) students at a low cost. The college falls under the category of top private medical colleges in Bangladesh. The Dhaka National Medical Hospital is the allocated education hospital near the college. Students who complete an MBBS degree from the college can take training in the hospital.


    Must have completed 10+2, or equivalent qualifications, with a minimum of 50% of marks in each subject of Physics, Chemistry, Biology(PCB) (Which in general 50% is equal to ‘C’ grades for Sri Lankan A-Level and ‘D’ grades for International A Levels like EDEXCEL/London) and also 50% in aggregate

    Completed Bachelor of Science Degree, recognized by the University, with one of the following subjects viz. Physics, Chemistry, Biology and at least one other prescribed science subject of study up to the ancillary level and having scored not less than an overall aggregate of 50%marks, provided that such candidate shall have passed the earlier qualifying examination (10+2 or an equivalent examination) with the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology

    Completed requisite course equivalent to I. Sc. (Biological Group) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English, as main subjects after Certificate Level in Health Sciences from Dhulikhel Medical Institute, Kathmandu University and having a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and not less than 50% of marks in each subject of Physics, Chemistry and, Biology (PCB).


    OR In 2021, NEET cutoff passing marks for general category is 720-138, while for SC/ST/OBC it is 137-108.

FACILITIES AVAILABILITY
Library There is a comfortable room of separate space in the library with multimedia for the teachers and medical officers for the purpose of reading and research activities. Three (3) reading tables and twelve (12) seating chairs are for teachers’ studies in the library. There are two (2) air-conditioned reading rooms besides the library as a part of library.
About 48 students can easily use the reading rooms at a time. It has 3 bag shelves for keeping the students’ bag of about 100 students at a time. Beside the reading room and in front of library main gate, One room is available for female students’ prayer. Pure drinking water is provided to the students through automatic purify water machine. There are two (2) toilets for male students and three (3) toilets for female students. Library staffs are very knowledgeable, helpful and dedicated to satisfy the students and teachers trough providing best services to them.

The college is a renowned Medical college situated in old Dhaka city. The college has well-furnished hostels for both male and female students. The hostels are under the coverate of CCTV and security all the time. The entrance and exit of the students in the hostel are maintained by Registrar Khata. All types of facilities for the students are available in the hostels

Total 100 students for boy’s hostel and 35 students for girl’s hostel can take their meals at a time in dining room. TV facilities are available at dining room for girl’s hostel. Water purifiers are present there for pure drinking water at dining room for boys and girls hostel. Meals are cooked by male/female cook according to the student’s choice for boys and girls hostel
