Kathmandu Medical College, Nepal functions from two complexes - Duwakot Basic Sciences and Sinamangal Clinical Sciences. MBBS Program is of four-and-a-half years, with a one-year compulsory internship after passing the university Final Examination. The four-and-a-half years MBBS course is divided into 9 semesters of 6 months each. The core curriculum for the MBBS program shall be composed of the following pre-clinical and clinical departments. The KMC Teaching Hospital, located within the ring-road and just near the airport, is in a position of easy access.



Prof. Dr. Chanda Karki, a renowned Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in the country, former Departmental Head of Obstetrics & Gynaecology of the College and the past President of Nepal Society of obstetricians and Gynaecologist (NESOG), is the Principal. Dr. Mukund Raj Joshi, is the Director of the KMC Teaching Hospital. Several of our teaching staffs have had considerable teaching experience in Medical Colleges in India and abroad.



The first four semesters are devoted to the study of preclinical Science. Disciplines of Preclinical sciences are Human Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pathology and Pharmacology, Community Medicine. The students are also introduced to clinical knowledge and skills with a subject o Introduction to Clinical Sciences.


    Students may contact KMC for forms, prospectus or other details. Resident Nepali and foreign students will have to take Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination and admissions are strictly according to the merit.
    To be considered eligible for selection to the MBBS program, a candidate:

  • Passed 10+2 Science (Biology Group) or Equivalent securing at least 50% separately in Physics, Chemistry and Biology with 50% aggregate in total marks OR Secured at least C+ grade separately in Physics, Chemistry and Biology with at least C grade in remaining individual subjects along with GPA 2.4
  • OR
  • Secured the Percentage equivalent to above eligibility in regards to the certificate level programs (A-Level) with different grading system
  • OR
  • Applicants who have passed the Health Science Proficiency Certificate Level /Diploma (General Medicine, Medical Lab Technology, Ophthalmic Science, Dental Science, Pharmacy, Ayurveda, Radiography, Physiotherapy) with Certificate of Equivalence to Grade 12 Science program from National Examination Board AND Secured at least 50% separately in Physics, Chemistry and Biology with 50% aggregate in total marks both in Diploma and the Examination for Equivalence AND Registered in Nepal Health Professional council or Nepal Pharmacy Council or Nepal Ayurveda Council as per related educational program.
  • In 2021, NEET cutoff passing marks for general category is 720-138, while for SC/ST/OBC it is 137-108.

• Required digital photograph above shoulder in white background. It should show a close up of your face and the top of your shoulders so that your face takes up between 70% - 80% of the face. ( Kindly share clear scan copy over email ID provide by your counsellor) • Required 6 passport size photographs should be 35mm x 45mm in Width and Height over matt paper with white background.

• In English only • Required only if student is minor less than 18 years. ➢ Bank Statement of Father or Mother (PLEASE NOTE: Passbook copy is not acceptable) • 6 months original bank statement with Bank Stamp on it. • Minimum closing balance not less than Rs. 2.5 Lakhs. • In case account is opened less than 6 months then letter from bank manager stating when the account was opened.

➢ If the student has Bank statement of himself or herself it is acceptable

• 6 months original bank statement with Bank Stamp on it. • Minimum balance not less than Rs. 2.5 Lakhs.

➢ No objection letter/ Sponsorship Affidavit on a Rs. 100 stamp paper (Original).

➢ Minor affidavit on Rs. 10 Stamp Paper from Father and Mother if Student is below 18 years

old.

➢ Student Pan Card Copy (For Dollar exchange & Forex Card).
